Development in Biotechnology
Bio-informatics:
Bio-informatics is the ability to create value from the combined use
of biotechnology and computing technology that enables the handling
of massive amounts of genetic and DNA sequence information. It is an
expensive and highly competitive area in which firms face high costs
of market entry.
Proteomics:
Proteomics is the identification of biopharmaceutical product candidates
by examination of proteins from the target cell, tissue or organism.
This is a capital-intensive process in which Australia has some capacity.
