The AMC respects the privacy of every individual and is committed to observing the 10 National Privacy Principles as set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.

Collection of Personal Data
We do not collect personally identifiable information from our web site. The AMC may obtain information (for example, your name, contact details, and projects in which you have participated) when:

  • You attend or participate in any AMC function, event or project
  • You express an interest in the AMC's activities
  • Your organisation seems relevant to the AMC's activities and the information is publicly available.

The AMC only collects information if:

  • It is necessary for an AMC activity
  • It is collected lawfully and not in an unreasonable manner
  • It is collected from the individual the information relates to; or reasonable steps have been taken to ensure the individual is aware of the information being collected; or the information is publicly available.

Disclosure of Personal Information
When you choose to give us information by email, phone, post or in person we keep it confidential. We do not sell, rent, share or otherwise disclose mailing lists or other personally indentifiable information.

From time to time the AMC may use its database to help promote the activities of a third party. However, it only does so when the objectives of that use are congruent with the AMC's aims and objectives and the activity is seen as potentially useful to the AMC's clients, members and associates. Should you not wish to be contacted regarding third party activities, please let us know.

Email Management and Online Forms
Your email address will only be recorded if you choose to send a message. It will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and will not be added to a mailing list. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and will not be disclosed, without your consent.

Security
The AMC maintains the same level of security for personal information collected in an electronic format as it does for that collected in paper format.

However, if you are providing personal information via an email or an online form you should be aware that there are some risks to transmitting data via the Internet. The AMC is not currently using encryption for secure data transfer.
