Electronics Industry Focus Groups

The Electronic Focus Group was initiated in 1999 on the basis to explore ways in which the industry could co-operate to shorten lead times, improve quality and source our component requirements at world competitive prices.

Many areas were examined by the group including component supply which involved both locally produced parts and components as well as imported items. Specific issues involved were:

  • Parts Standardisation
  • Collective Bargaining/Purchasing
  • Surplus Stock Register

However, after a number of sessions the group's activities drew to a close with each member companies deciding to undertake their own activities.
